- Served in the Nova Scotia Public Service for eight years in various roles including Deputy Minister of Planning & Priorities, Deputy Minister of the Office of Strategy Management, and Deputy Minister of Business
- Served on many Boards including the World Trade and Convention Center, Research Nova Scotia, Events East, Develop Nova Scotia, Innovacorp, Nature Conservancy of Canada, Cresco, and as Corporate Secretary of Twin Rivers Paper Company.
- Managing Trustee of the Killam Trusts, a private philanthropic trust of over $500M supporting advanced study to build Canada’s future
- Director, Governance and General Counsel, Mitacs Inc., a National Not-for profit Corporation that connects post secondary research to economic and social needs
- Assistant Professor at Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University
